The Dorchester Business Association is excited to announce the name change of their annual Lifestyles Home and Garden Show.

The Thames Centre Community Showcase better reflects what this event offers.

This year’s show dates are  Saturday May 1st 9 am ‘til 4 pm at the Community Centre on Dorchester Road.

More than a decade ago, Scotia Bank had an idea to organize a home and garden show and approximately 8 businesses stepped forward to participate in this first show. Later the Dorchester Business Association assumed responsibility for the event with the thoughts of providing its members with an opportunity to promote their goods and services to the community.

The organizers of the show have always kept community at its heart. Over the years growth has made changes to the format necessary. These include having almost 100 exhibitors filing the arena and hall, the introduction of the many non profit groups that function within Thames Centre.

The aim of this year’s Community Showcase is to offer the residents of Thames Centre and surrounding area an opportunity to see the many faces that are behind the local businesses, your neighbours who dedicate their time to organizations such as the Community Policing, the Trail Committee, the folks that make up municipal government, The North Dorchester Agricultural Society and The Donnybrook Fiddle and Step Dance Competition, and many more.
